The learning surface was designed and built for a fourth grade classroom at the Swain School in Allentown, PA. After meeting with the students and going over their dream designs for a new desk, we found that there was specific focus on the ability to interact with the furniture from the students and the teachers expressed an importance in the ability to use it for circle time, group activities, and lecture periods in a relatively small sized classroom.
Although it is photographed in the wrong orientation, the storage bin is able to rotate so that it slides into this vertical position. The lid can be used as a lap desk.
